My background

I earned my Master's in Marriage and Family Therapy from St. Edward's University in Austin, TX. My work spans both private practice and non-profit settings, where I support individuals, couples, and families.

Before becoming a therapist, I worked as a molecular biologist. That earlier work shaped how I think: I look for patterns, I respect evidence, and I pay close attention to the details that easy explanations tend to skip. I bring that same careful attention to the people I work with.

My move into therapy grew out of a belief that understanding how a mind works should make life more livable, not more clinical. I want the people I work with to feel met as whole people, not as a set of symptoms to manage.

My therapeutic approach

I am warm, direct, and collaborative. I won't guess at what you need. I'll ask, and I'll stay curious about what actually helps you.

I am neurodivergent-affirming. That means I don't treat ADHD or autism as problems to fix. I help you understand how your mind works and build a life that fits it, while paying attention to capacity, overwhelm, masking, burnout, and relationships.

I use evidence-based approaches including EMDR, RO DBT, mindfulness, and skills from DBT, EFT, and PACT. I am also trained in Emotional Freedom Technique (Tapping), which targets points similar to those used in acupuncture and can help manage difficult emotions. I am LGBTQIA+ affirming and neurodiversity affirming.

With couples, I work with mixed-neurotype relationships and the repeated patterns of misunderstanding, conflict, or shutdown that can build up when two people process and communicate differently. I also work with couples navigating life transitions, divorce, neurodiversity, and high conflict. The goal isn't to make either partner more like the other. It's to make the connection work for both of you.

In family therapy, I focus on fostering open communication and working toward shared goals, using techniques from structural family therapy, narrative therapy, solution-focused therapy, and attachment-based therapy.

ADHD and autism assessments

I also offer neuro-affirming ADHD and autism assessments for adults seeking personal insight and self-understanding. Grounded in the neurodiversity framework, these assessments are collaborative and strengths-based, focusing on clarity, not deficit.
